BPC Concrete Paver Naming Competition!

Auckland Airport is undergoing a major expansion to build a great gateway for New Zealand. Brian Perry Civil is undertaking some significant parts of this work, including the creation of new concrete stands and taxiways for planes, covering an impressive area of 23 football fields.

Completing this heroic construction work needs some grunty tools, and BPC has brought in two large pieces of concrete paving equipment from Germany. The Wirtgen Concrete Paver is used to place the concrete, while the Texture Curing Machine helps to create the right surface for the planes to run on.

BPC is asking the children of Maangere Bridge Primary School to come up with names for our new equipment.

We are looking for two creative names that describe the strong and tidy work of the machines, or their rugged good looks. They always work close together, a bit like whaanau or team mates. You can see more about the great work going in at Auckland Airport on TVNZ+ here (and even see the concrete paver). Watch Seven Sharp Flying Under The Radar | TVNZ+

Children can enter using the entry forms available from the School Office, and these need to be returned by close of day 7th August 2024.

A winning entry will be chosen by the project site team, and a Prezzy card and a visit to come see the machines at the Airport will be provided to the winner.

(Each child has already received an entry form at school)

According to our policy in SchoolDocs anyone who has a concern or complaint should raise it as soon as possible with an appropriate person at the school.
